Temistocles Montás is a prominent political figure from the Dominican Republic who has served in various positions in government and academia. He was born on October 5, 1948, in the city of La Vega, and he studied economics at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.
Montás has held numerous political roles, including Minister of Industry and Commerce under President Leonel Fernández, as well as Director of the National Institute of Water Resources and a member of the board of directors of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery. He is a member of the Dominican Liberation Party and has frequently been involved in negotiations with international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund.
